2014 “New” Honky Tonk Women band

Three new female vocalists for 2014.  Roze on violin, Marueen and Deb on lead vocal and harmony and myself, Sheila Jones Schrank on finger-style guitar (arranger for the band). Let our music take you on a “Sentimental Journey”, back to a time when life was filled with “first times”.  Our first kiss, our first date, our first boyfriend or girlfriend, a melody we called “our song”, that first dance, our first car, our first vacation or our favorite radio station listening to the  ’60’s sound.

It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I want to, Sincerely by the McGuire Sisters, My Boyfriend’s Back, Don’t Say Nothing bad about my baby, Brenda Lee, the Crystals, The Marvelettes,  The Ronettes, Roy Orbinson, Bobby Darin, The Angels, The Ronnettes, Patsy Cline, Petula Clark, Leslie Gore,  The Ponytails, Elvis Presley, The Drifters, The Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, Brenda Lee filled the radio stations with chartbusting songs .

“Dream Lover”, “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”, “Be My Baby”, “Then He Kissed Me”, “Walking After Midnight”, “Crazy”, “You Don’t Own Me”, “Boardwalk”, “Crying in the Rain”, “Where the Boy’s Are”, “He’s a Rebel” were songs that sometimes broke our hearts.

We went back in time and selected many of these precious songs, reworked the harmonies around these classic hits in hopes of bringing back those “first” feeling we felt and the special memories we can recapture as we enjoy singing every word together.

Honkytonk Women is a band of four women vocalists, guitar, violin and percussion who enjoy bringing back the 50 and 60 era sound for all women of all ages, including (especially) ours.
